fix(player): keyboard focus, contrast and ARIA for controls and settings (#1769)
* fix(player): keyboard focus, contrast and ARIA for controls and settings
Dock and settings-panel icon buttons draw a 2px --pc-text ring on
:focus-visible, and Material's theme-coloured focus layer is off, so
keyboard focus shows on video in the light theme too. A focused selected
subtitle swatch now differs from one that is only selected.
Settings headings read --pc-text-secondary on denser glass
(--pc-glass-bg-dense, 0.86): 4.5:1 or more over mid-grey and white
frames. They wrap (overflow-wrap: anywhere, hyphens: auto), so long
German and Russian headings stay inside the sheet's heading column.
The settings panel is now radio groups only (SettingsRadioGroupDirective
over a CDK FocusKeyManager): one Tab stop per group on the checked option,
arrows, Home and End move focus without applying, and Space/Enter checks.
The dialog and its groups are named by real h2/h3/h4 headings, the
load-file action sits outside the subtitle radio group, the subtitle and
speed chips carry their value in their name ("Subtitles: English"), and
tune has aria-haspopup="dialog".
Adds a web E2E for the keyboard path in both themes with an axe check on
the open panel, and de/ru sheet heading wrapping; axe-core is a new dev
dependency for it.

* fix(player): arrows check settings radios; subtitle chip reads On
Review follow-up:
- Arrow keys, Home and End now check the settings radio they reach, as a
native radio group does (the directive clicks it, so the template's
handler applies the choice); an option the engine already reports as
checked is not applied again.
- With subtitles on but no track marked selected yet (the engine can
report the switch before the track list), the subtitle chip reads and
announces "On" (new SUBTITLES_ON key, 19 locales) instead of "Off".
- The swatch row has 4px padding on every side, so the outer focus ring
is not clipped at the scroll edge of the panel body.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(player): re-apply a settings radio while a switch is pending
The arrow-key check skipped any option the engine still reported as
checked. Arrowing from audio track A to B and back to A before the engine
confirmed B therefore sent no command for A, and playback ended on B with
focus on A. An arrow move always lands on an option other than the last
one applied, so it now applies unconditionally.

fix(playback): show the Up next card near the real end of an episode (#1768)
* fix(playback): show the Up next card near the real end of an episode The card appeared a fixed 8 minutes before the end: most of a short episode, and far into the story of a long one, with no way to hide it. - Adaptive lead: 4% of the episode, clamped to 40 s … 3 min. - A closing-credits chapter in the last third, when timeline segments carry one, brings the card forward to its start (capped at 5 min). - Close button and Escape dismiss the card for the current next episode. - After 10 s (not while hovered) the card collapses into a one-line pill. - Seconds countdown in the last minute. - New playback setting "Up next card" (default on) turns it off. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): address Up next card review feedback - Offer the Up next card setting for Embedded MPV only under the frame-copy engine; native view never mounts the shared controls. - Hovering pauses the collapse delay instead of restarting it. - Document that the card stays visible when the controls auto-hide. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): restart the Up next collapse delay for a new episode - A card that stays mounted while its next episode changes gives the new item the full delay instead of the previous item's leftover. - The setting description no longer promises credit-based timing: no current series path supplies chapters yet. feat(playback): give the fullscreen side panel the settings panel's glass look (#1767)
* feat(playback): give the fullscreen side panel the settings panel's glass look The fullscreen channel/episode panel was a full-height graphite strip while the controls' settings panel is an inset, rounded glass card. The side panel now wears the same surface: 16px inset (8px under 560px), 20px corners, the controls' glass fill, hairline border, blur and shadow, the same open motion and a 32px square close button. The edge hint uses the same glass, and the episode list marks the playing row with the settings panel's selected cyan. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): dismiss the side panel from the exposed edge gutter The inset card leaves the hot zone's left strip visible beside it, above the scrim, so a click there re-ran show() instead of dismissing. A completed primary press in the zone now closes an open panel; hovering there still counts as inside, since a hover-opened panel leaves the pointer resting in that strip. The playing episode row also keeps its cyan tint on hover/focus. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): decide an edge press from the panel state at pointerdown A press held on the edge past the hover dwell opened the panel before the release, which then read the open state and dismissed it. The press now remembers whether it began on an open panel. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

perf(electron): let hidden and minimized windows report themselves hidden (#1724)
* perf(electron): let hidden and minimized windows report themselves hidden The main window was created with backgroundThrottling: false (since #1123, without a stated reason). Electron then keeps document.visibilityState at "visible" for a hidden, minimized or fully covered window and never lets Chromium throttle it, so every renderer timer, rAF and CSS transition ran at full rate in the background, and the playback keep-awake gate, which releases the display for a minimized window, could never see one. Use Chromium's default. Audible media and picture-in-picture are exempt from background throttling in Chromium, and a local check confirmed HLS playback continues unchanged through more than six minutes minimized, audible and muted. Playwright's focus emulation pins every page it attaches to as visible, so the new window-visibility E2E launches the app without Playwright and drives it over raw CDP (electron-unautomated-launch.ts). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(e2e): harden the unautomated Electron launch Review follow-ups for the window-visibility E2E: - Resolve `electron` in the main process through a require created from the `node:module` builtin instead of `process.mainModule`, which only exists when the app entry is CommonJS. - Bound teardown like closeElectronApplicationAndConfirmExit: SIGTERM, then SIGKILL, 5 s each, then fail instead of waiting forever. - Surface CDP protocol errors from Runtime.evaluate instead of returning undefined. - Wait until the window is actually shown before hiding it. The app shows its window on ready-to-show, and a hide() that lands earlier is undone by that show(); this was the first-attempt failure on the macOS shard. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(e2e): check the playback display lock is released while hidden Review follow-ups for #1724: - Add an E2E that plays the webm fixture in the unautomated launch, records the main process's prevent-display-sleep blockers, and asserts the keep-awake lock is taken while visible, released when the window is hidden, and taken again when it is shown. The visibility tests alone would still pass if the renderer gate or the bridge stopped updating powerSaveBlocker. - Validate CDP replies before dispatch (CodeQL js/unvalidated-dynamic-method-call): only a numeric id with a pending settle function is called. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(e2e): skip killing an Electron that already exited stopElectron now checks the recorded exit state before each signal and tolerates a kill that races the exit: on Windows taskkill throws for a PID that no longer exists. Startup cleanup can no longer replace the startup error that explains the failure; a cleanup failure there is logged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(stalker): keep the watchdog cadence while the window is hidden With background throttling on, Chromium wakes a hidden, silent page's timers at most once per minute after five minutes, so a portal that asks for get_events every 30 s would see pings at half its cadence while the window is minimized. Tick the watchdog from a dedicated worker (createBackgroundInterval, an inline blob worker allowed by the renderer CSP), whose timers are not subject to page throttling. It falls back to a page setInterval where no worker is available or the worker fails to load. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(stalker): keep a stopped watchdog interval stopped A worker error that arrived after stop() started the page fallback interval, which nothing cleared, so pings continued for an inactive playlist. stop() now marks the interval stopped, detaches the worker handlers, and the fallback refuses to start afterwards. feat(playback): fullscreen episode panel for series playback (#1620)
Series playing in fullscreen get the same slide-in side panel the live channel list has, with season tabs and the episode list: rest the mouse on the left edge, click it, or press C; pick an episode and it plays inline without leaving fullscreen. - Panel contract: `FullscreenChannelPanelHost` gains optional `panelSearchEnabled` and `panelKind`; the template context gains `open`. Pointer/keyboard rules and the four live providers are unchanged. - Series host: `PortalInlinePlayerComponent` provides the token through `createEpisodePanelHost()` and stamps `app-fullscreen-episode-panel` (SeasonTabsComponent over rows with TMDB still or numeral tile, label, runtime, clamped overview, progress, watched check, now-playing marker; playing row centred on open). Episode clicks reuse the Up Next rail's inline path; season tab clicks reach the hosts' `onSeasonSelected` (Xtream TMDB season enrichment, Stalker lazy VOD load with a Retry row after a failed request). - Gates: `Settings.fullscreenChannelPanel` (label now covers both lists in all locales), episode content only, native-view Embedded MPV withheld by the view, external players excluded. - Inline-series e2e moved to `xtream-series-playback.e2e.ts` with shared Xtream helpers in a fixture; adds a fullscreen episode switch through the panel. fix(playback): make the fullscreen channel panel discoverable and calmer to close (#1619)
* fix(playback): make the fullscreen channel panel discoverable and calmer to close The left-edge hot zone was an invisible 28px strip with nothing telling the user where the list lived, so "hovering the left side" rarely reached it while `C` always worked. Mouse movement over the stage now reveals a slim edge hint tab (CSS chevron, fades after 2.5 s idle, lit while the pointer rests in the zone), the zone grows to 40px (48px coarse), and a click or tap on the edge opens at once without the dwell. Closing follows the pointer more honestly: the mouse-leave grace grows from 420 ms to 1 s, and it applies only once the pointer has engaged with the panel, so a `C`-opened list no longer closes while the mouse merely roams over the video under the user's typing. Clicks inside the panel never close it. Found on the way: closing with Escape while the mouse still rests on the edge reopened the panel 160 ms later, because Chromium synthesizes a `pointerenter` on the hot zone the aside slid away from. An explicit close now re-arms the zone only on the next real pointer move. Verified live over CDP on HTML5, Video.js, ArtPlayer and Embedded MPV frame-copy; the hover mechanism itself was sound on every engine. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): open the panel only on a primary click begun on the edge Review follow-up. The hot zone opened on every pointerup, so a drag released over the edge, a right or middle click and a pen barrel button all opened the panel; now pointerdown records the primary pointer and pointerup must match it (a leave or cancel forgets the press). The synthetic pointerenter that follows an explicit close no longer arms the hint either: the edge stays clear until the next real pointer move, which arms it and starts the dwell. fix(playback): seek Embedded MPV steps relative to mpv's own position (#1518)
* fix(playback): seek Embedded MPV steps relative to mpv's own position Arrow keys and the ±10 s buttons in the Embedded MPV player advanced only about a second per press when pressed repeatedly or held. The shortcuts already asked for 5 s steps, but `EmbeddedMpvCommandRunner.seekBy` turned each step into an absolute `seek` computed from `session.positionSeconds`, which is floored to whole seconds, polled every 500 ms (helper snapshots at most every 250 ms) and not refreshed by the seek reply. Every press inside that window therefore landed on the same target. Steps now go through a new `EMBEDDED_MPV_SEEK_BY` IPC / `seekEmbeddedMpvBy` bridge method that every backend forwards as mpv `seek <delta> relative+exact`: `seekBy` exports in the macOS addon and the Windows/Linux `wid` addon (Linux over its JSON IPC socket), and a `seek-by` stdin command in the frame-copy helper. mpv resolves the delta against its own position and merges queued relative seeks, so presses accumulate as in mpv itself. The absolute form survives only as a fallback for a preload without the method or an addon binary without `seekBy`; the timeline scrub still commits an absolute target. Validated with a real mpv 0.39 IPC probe: three relative seeks in a burst advance +15 s, three absolute seeks from one stale base advance +5 s. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): drop speculative position update from relative Embedded MPV seeks Review follow-up for the relative seek path. The macOS and Windows/Linux `seekBy` exports advanced `snapshot.positionSeconds` by the delta after dispatching the mpv command. That is not idempotent the way the absolute seek's optimistic write is: the observer (mpv event thread, or the Linux IPC poll) can already have stored the post-seek `time-pos` under the same mutex, so adding the delta on top counted the step twice, and while paused nothing corrected it. On Linux it also advertised a position that a failed socket delivery never reached. Relative steps now leave the snapshot alone; only the observed `time-pos` updates the position. The packaged Linux frame-copy smoke now drives `seekEmbeddedMpvBy` through the built app: a burst of three +2 s steps issued without waiting for snapshots has to land on 6 s, and a -60 s step has to clamp at 0. The generated Y4M fixture grows from 2 s to 12 s (about 415 KB) so the burst and the playing section that follows stay inside the clip. Replayed against a local mpv 0.39 with the same fixture and media server: burst -> 6.0, -60 -> 0. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs(agents): mirror the Embedded MPV relative-seek contract into AGENTS.md Review follow-up: the Shared Player Controls section documents the frame-copy commands and shortcuts, so the relative seekEmbeddedMpvBy invariant lives there too, next to the CLAUDE.md note. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): reject a Linux relative seek the mpv IPC socket did not accept Review follow-up: the Linux branch of SeekBy discarded the socket transaction result and returned normally, so a step that never reached mpv looked like a seek still awaiting observation. It now throws like a failed mpv_command_async on the in-process engines; the renderer swallows the rejection and resyncs from the next snapshot, and the main process logs it. fix(playback): keep Video.js vendor-chrome shortcuts after a mouse click on a control (#1523)
Follow-up to #1516 for the vendor-chrome path (shared controls opted out). With Video.js's own controls, Chromium leaves a clicked control-bar button focused, and a focused Video.js component captures the keyboard entirely, so after clicking fullscreen Space left fullscreen instead of pausing and the seek, volume and mute keys did nothing until the user clicked the video. ArtPlayer and the native HTML5 controls were verified unaffected. The legacy Video.js chrome now releases the focus a pointer interaction leaves on a control (vjs-pointer-focus-release.ts). The release is scoped to the .vjs-control-bar and pointer-attributed, and runs on both focusin (focus landing on a control, e.g. a menu handing focus to its button) and click (a control clicked while already focused, which fires no focusin); keyboard Tab focus and modal-dialog focus traps are preserved. The eligibility helper is shared with ControlsSurface via pointer-focus-release.ts. fix(playback): keep playback shortcuts after a mouse click on a bar button (#1516)
Chromium focuses a clicked <button>, and a focused control captures the keyboard: Space and Enter activate it again, and ControlsShortcuts yields to any interactive element in the key's path. After a click on the fullscreen button, Space left fullscreen instead of pausing and the seek, volume and mute keys did nothing until a click on the video took focus away. Follow-up to #1512, which stopped that focus from pinning the bar but left it on the button. A completed pointer click now releases the focus it left on the control (onBarClick -> ControlsSurface.releasePointerFocus). The click is attributed by its pointerType (empty for Enter/Space activation and element.click()), with the legacy MouseEvent fallback answered once per recorded press, so keyboard activation keeps focus where Tab put it. Only buttons and range sliders are released. Chromium keeps its sequential-focus starting point at the blurred control, so a later Tab continues from it. The release dispatches a focusout while the pointer still rests on the control, so the volume anchor ignores it instead of closing the popover under the hovering mouse. fix(playback): auto-hide shared controls after a mouse click on a bar button (#1512)
Chromium focuses a clicked <button>, so the shared controls bar treated every mouse click on a control (fullscreen, mute, ...) as keyboard navigation and pinned itself open until a click on the viewport took focus away — a click that also paused playback. Most visible on Embedded MPV frame-copy after entering fullscreen; reproduces on HTML5, Video.js and ArtPlayer too. Only keyboard-originated focus pins the bar now: pointer-attributed focus reveals without a pin, the press record is discarded on the first bar focus event or any keydown, a pointerdown inside the bar releases a keyboard pin, and a keydown bubbling out of a bar control re-pins it. fix(playback): keep fullscreen across episode, channel and source switches (#1509)
WebPlayerViewComponent remounts the engine component for every playback application, and the DOM Fullscreen API exits the moment its element leaves the document. The fullscreen element was the engine shell, so every next- episode click, autoplay hand-off, channel zap and alternative-source switch dropped the viewer back to the page. app-player-controls gains a `fullscreenTarget` input; HTML5, Video.js, ArtPlayer and Embedded MPV forward it, and WebPlayerViewComponent passes its own host element, which spans all applications of one mount. Keeping fullscreen exposed a latent bug: the Electron header handoff set plain fields under OnPush hosts and was only rendered thanks to the fullscreen exit's stage resize; `channel`/`vjsOptions` are signals now. Covered by unit regressions (fullscreen target, WebPlayerView remount, OnPush handoff), a web-e2e run through a manual and an automatic episode switch, and a manual Electron check. Docs and release note updated. Closes #1498 Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(playback): add quality selection to shared player controls (#1470)
* feat(playback): add quality selection to shared player controls Adds a per-session video quality menu (Auto + "1080p"-style levels) to the shared player-controls layer, mirroring the audio-track pattern: - Contract: qualityLevels capability, qualityLevels/qualityAutoEnabled state, setQualityLevel command with AUTO_QUALITY_LEVEL_ID (-1) restoring ABR. - hls.js (HTML5/ArtPlayer via the neutral source bridge): levels with list-index ids, smooth switching through nextLevel, selection read from manualLevel; refresh events extended with MANIFEST_PARSED, LEVELS_UPDATED, LEVEL_SWITCHED. - Shaka (DASH): variant tracks filtered to the active audio language, ABR disabled before selectVariantTrack; manual state keyed to the exact player instance so a session restart never shows a stale selection. - Video.js: new VjsQualityLevels over videojs-contrib-quality-levels (manual = exactly one enabled level, auto = all enabled, derived statelessly). - Embedded MPV and external players report the capability false. The capability derives from the manifest (advertised only for >1 video rendition), nothing persists to Settings, and the menu rides the default-off webPlayerSharedControls rollout gate. Labels come from one shared helper so all engines render the same vocabulary. QUALITY/QUALITY_AUTO keys added to all 19 i18n files. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): pin DASH quality candidates to the active audio stream Review findings on #1470: - Shaka quality candidates now match the active variant's exact audioId (language fallback only when Shaka reports none), so a DASH manifest with same-language audio tracks (main vs. commentary, stereo vs. 5.1) can no longer switch the audio track or show duplicate levels when a quality is picked. Regression test added. - Mirror the quality-selection contract into AGENTS.md's Shared Player Controls section, which must stay in sync with CLAUDE.md. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): track Video.js manual quality intent explicitly Codex re-review finding on #1470: VHS flips a rendition's `enabled` flag off itself when it temporarily excludes failing renditions, so inferring the manual/auto mode from the enabled count could report a manual selection the user never made once exclusions leave a single survivor. VjsQualityLevels now records the picked level object as explicit manual intent: error exclusions read as auto, a picked level that leaves the list reverts to auto, and the bridge resets the intent on every new source. Regression tests added. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): re-enable surviving renditions when the picked level is removed Codex follow-up on #1470: dropping manual intent when the picked QualityLevel leaves the list reverted the UI to auto but left the surviving renditions disabled by the earlier manual pick, pinning VHS with no selectable rendition. Reverting to auto now re-enables every remaining level, both on the removal event and lazily from the state read. Regression tests added. fix(playback): make playback keyboard shortcuts work without shared controls (#1398)
* fix(playback): make playback keyboard shortcuts work without shared controls With the default configuration (Video.js, webPlayerSharedControls off) the playback shortcuts advertised in the in-app help and README — Space/K, F, arrow seek/volume, M — silently did nothing: ControlsShortcuts only exists inside app-player-controls, which never renders on the preference-off path. Attach a LegacyPlayerShortcuts wrapper (same arbitration and ignore rules) in the vendor-chrome HTML5, Video.js, and ArtPlayer players, forwarding the commands to each engine's own API. Seek stays gated on authoritative VOD metadata plus a finite positive duration, and a visible playback diagnostic disables the keys. The legacy ArtPlayer chrome now passes hotkey:false — its focus-scoped vendor hotkeys ignore defaultPrevented and would double-handle every key — with its Escape-exits-web-fullscreen behavior restored by the new wiring. The playback entries in the in-app shortcut help and README drop their embedded-MPV-only qualifier, since the keys now work in every runtime. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_014h2cZi5DcFSbcmV7WgB6qB * fix(playback): restore audible volume when M unmutes at zero volume Addresses the Codex review finding on #1398: after arrowing the volume down to zero (which mutes), M flipped muted off while leaving the volume at 0, so the player looked unmuted but stayed silent — in all three legacy engine adapters. Mirror the shared controls' ControlsVolume semantics with a per-adapter LegacyMuteMemory: muting remembers the audible volume, and unmuting while the volume sits at zero restores it, with the same 0.5 fallback when nothing was remembered. feat(ui): turn the phone context panel into an off-canvas drawer (#1332)
* feat(ui): turn the phone context panel into an off-canvas drawer On ≤640px viewports the workspace context panel (categories, filters, settings sections, collection filters) no longer stacks above the route content capped at 30vh — it is a hidden-by-default drawer that slides in from the left over a backdrop, opened via a new header toggle (phone-only, CSS-gated) and closed by selection, backdrop tap, Escape, or any navigation. State lives in the new WorkspaceShellContextDrawerService provided by the shell component; panels close it explicitly after selections that do not navigate (Stalker ITV/radio categories, settings sections, sources filters, collection filters), since NavigationEnd alone cannot cover those. Desktop behavior is untouched, including the ResizableDirective inline width. Closes the drawer follow-up deferred from #1100 / PR #1326. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ui): make the phone context drawer modal for keyboard users Addresses Greptile P1 and Codex P2 review feedback on #1332: - CdkTrapFocus on the sidebar captures focus into the drawer on open and contains it while the drawer is modal; the shell restores focus to the header toggle on close, since the closed drawer is visibility: hidden and focus left inside it would silently drop to <body>. - The drawer service closes the drawer when the viewport leaves the phone breakpoint (matchMedia), so the trap can never hold the in-flow desktop sidebar after a resize. - The toggle's tooltip and aria-label are now variant-aware — categories on portal routes, filters on sources/collection routes, settings sections on the settings route — instead of a fixed 'Categories & filters' that misdescribed two of the three; the two generic i18n keys are replaced by six variant keys across all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ui): remove background content from the a11y tree while the drawer is open Round-2 review feedback on #1332 (Greptile P1, Codex P2): - The rail, header, route content and playback footer are marked inert while the phone drawer is open — CdkTrapFocus constrains Tab focus, but a screen reader's virtual cursor could still reach and activate the visually obscured controls behind the backdrop. - The drawer panel itself is the trap's initial focus target (tabindex=-1 + cdkFocusInitial), so focus capture still works when a category list is loading, empty, or failed and renders no focusable rows. - Focus restore on close is deferred one tick: the toggle lives in the inert header, and focus() on a still-inert element is silently ignored. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): gate global shortcuts and Escape behind the open phone drawer Round-3 review feedback on #1332 (Codex P2s): - The shell consumes Escape while the drawer is open: downstream Escape consumers (the portal detail shell's inline player close, the shared controls shortcuts) check defaultPrevented, so one keypress no longer closes both the drawer and the obscured playback surface. - inert does not silence document-level keydown listeners, so players opt out themselves while inside an inert region: ControlsShortcuts gains an optional hostElement handler and ignores every shortcut (including Escape) when that host has an inert ancestor, and the radio audio player applies the same check to its volume/mute keys. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ui): close control, Cmd+F gate, and Embedded MPV inert guard for the drawer Round-4 review feedback on #1332 (Greptile P1, Codex P2s): - The drawer carries its own phone-only close button: touch screen-reader users have no hardware Escape and cannot reach the inert header toggle or the aria-hidden backdrop, so the trapped surface must offer dismissal itself — even when a category list is loading or empty and renders no actionable entries. - Ctrl/Cmd+F no longer opens global search while the drawer is modal; the shortcut would have navigated and focused an input inside the inert header. - EmbeddedMpvShortcuts (native-view legacy dock) gains the same hostElement/inert-ancestor guard as the shared controls shortcuts, so the obscured player cannot react to Space/arrows/M/Escape behind the drawer. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ui): round-5 drawer feedback + update phone-layout e2e for the drawer Merges master (#1333 landed mobile-layout.e2e.ts pinning the #1326 stacked-panel behavior this PR replaces) and updates that spec to pin the drawer contract instead: panel hidden by default with full-width content, header toggle opens it over a backdrop, category selection and backdrop tap close it. Verified locally on Chromium, Firefox and WebKit (12/12). The spec's getByTestId calls needed plain [data-test-id=...] locators — the web-e2e Playwright config never mapped testIdAttribute. Also addresses Codex round-5 P2s: - Focus restore now reports whether the toggle received focus; when a drawer selection navigated to a route without a context panel (toggle gone), focus falls back to the route content instead of dropping to <body>. - The Xtream and Stalker live layouts' Ctrl/Cmd+B sidebar shortcut opts out while their host sits inside an inert region, matching the other document-level listeners. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ui): suppress command palette and shortcuts dialog behind the open drawer Greptile round-6 finding on #1332: the document-level Ctrl/Cmd+K handler in WorkspaceShellFacade and the '?' help-key handler in WorkspaceKeyboardShortcutsService still opened their dialogs while the phone context drawer was modal, stacking a second focus-trapped surface on top of it. Both now check the drawer service (injected optionally, same shell-component providers) and stay quiet while it is open, like the Ctrl/Cmd+F global-search gate. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ui): round-7 drawer feedback — Cmd+R gate and native MPV surface hiding Addresses the two Codex round-7 P2s on #1332: - WorkspaceShellContextDrawerService moves to @iptvnator/workspace/shell/util and becomes root-provided, so AppComponent's document-level Ctrl/Cmd+R global-recent shortcut can observe the modal drawer without pulling the lazy shell chunk into the eager bundle. Cmd+R is now suppressed while the drawer is open, like Cmd+F/Cmd+K/'?'. - The shell registers the open drawer with a new EmbeddedMpvOverlayVisibilityService.acquireExternalModalSurface() API: the native-view video surface is composited outside DOM stacking and would paint straight over the drawer regardless of z-index. The service treats registered external modal surfaces exactly like open Material dialogs. - The service's recompute no longer reads overlayActive back before setting it: signals already skip notification on equal values, and that hidden read registered overlayActive as a dependency of any reactive context calling into the service — the shell's acquire/release effect looped forever on exactly that (caught by a live browser probe; the unit suite mocked the service). The effect also wraps the acquire in untracked() for caller-side hygiene. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ui): expose the phone drawer as a named modal dialog Round-8 review feedback on #1332 (Codex P2s): - While open, the drawer carries role=dialog, aria-modal=true, and a variant-appropriate accessible name (categories / filters / settings sections) — assistive technology now hears that a named modal surface opened instead of an unnamed complementary landmark. Closed (and the always-visible desktop sidebar) stays a plain landmark. - The UI-guidelines drawer section no longer claims the drawer service is component-provided; it is root-provided from workspace/shell/util since the round-7 move, and the stale claim could have led a future change to re-scope it and silently break the AppComponent shortcut gate and the Embedded MPV overlay observer. Matching code comments updated everywhere. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ui): round-9 — gate M3U player keys behind the drawer, raise drawer stacking Greptile round-9 P1 + Codex round-9 P2 on #1332: - The M3U video player's document-level digit-key channel switching and Ctrl/Cmd+B sidebar toggle now apply the same inert-ancestor guard as every other routed-content key listener. A codebase sweep confirms this closes the class: every document-level key listener on routed content is now either gated by the shell (Escape, Cmd+F/K/R, '?') or opts out via closest('[inert]'); the guidelines now require the guard for any new listener. - The drawer moves from z-index 99/98 to 951/950: above the settings action bar (100) and the root EPG/update panels (900/901), which inert removes from interaction but not from paint order — below the CDK overlay container (1000), since dialogs opened from inside the drawer (Manage categories) must stack on top of it. fix(playback): make the "Show subtitles" setting reach the web players (#1269)
The persisted subtitle preference only ever had an owner behind the default-off shared web-controls flag, so with the shipping controls it did nothing: Video.js never read it, ArtPlayer declared the input but never used it, and the HTML5 player only ran a one-shot pass after play() resolved — before hls.js had added its text tracks. No portal host bound the input at all, so it never reached Xtream or Stalker pages either. Extract the source-local track controllers into the adapter-free WebVideoSourceTracks and have WebVideoSourceControlsBridge wrap it, so both controls modes apply the preference through the same code. The preference-off players bind it directly (VjsLegacyTracks for Video.js), and WebPlayerViewComponent reads the preference from SettingsStore instead of an input so every host inherits it. The preference means different things depending on who renders the caption UI: shared controls stay authoritative for the session, while vendor chrome is source-default — the preference seeds each new source and is released once the media reports playing, so the engine own caption menu keeps working. Mode selection is an optional playbackStarted probe passed to the HLS, native and Shaka helpers; in that mode the HLS helper deselects the track rather than hiding it, since subtitleDisplay would silently override the vendor menu. feat(m3u): DASH + ClearKey playback via Shaka Player (#1225)
* feat(m3u): extract ClearKey DRM from #KODIPROP playlist lines Adds the typed ChannelDrm model (shared interfaces) and a KODIPROP post-processing step in createPlaylistObject() — the single funnel for all four playlist import paths. Parses inputstream.adaptive.license_type, license_key and drm_legacy; ClearKey keys accepted as kid:key hex pairs, W3C ClearKey license JSON, or a plain kid→key JSON map. Unsupported license types (Widevine/PlayReady/license URLs) are preserved with supported=false so playback can surface a DRM diagnostic instead of failing silently. Also adds isDashStreamUrl/isDashChannel helpers for DASH routing. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(playback): add Shaka DASH source engine with ClearKey support Introduces ShakaVideoSession (libs/ui/playback/src/lib/shaka-engine/): a lazily imported shaka-player engine (separate lazy chunk, ~217 KB transfer) owning attach/configure/load with an operation queue and generation guard against channel-switch races. Channel ClearKey config maps to drm.clearKeys; channels with an unsupported license type emit a DrmOrEncryption diagnostic without starting an engine. Shaka errors are classified into the existing playback diagnostics (PlaybackDiagnosticSource.Shaka). Wires the engine into both built-in players like hls.js/mpegts.js: - HTML5: extension === 'mpd' branch in playChannel(); hls/mpegts/native glue extracted to helpers to keep the component within the size budget - ArtPlayer: customType 'mpd' in ArtPlayerSourceSession (+ getDrm seam) - Shared controls: WebVideoControlsSource kind 'shaka' + WebVideoShakaControls using the Shaka 5 text model (selectTextTrack(null) hides subtitles; Player.setTextTrackVisibility no longer exists) Adds a CJS shaka-player jest stub (video.js precedent) for web specs. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(m3u): route DASH channels to the inline Shaka-capable player DASH (.mpd) channels always play in a built-in web engine (radio precedent): external MPV/VLC cannot receive KODIPROP ClearKey configuration (VLC upstream #29465) and Video.js has no DASH bridge yet. - shouldShowInlinePlayer() bypasses the external-player setting for DASH - new shouldAutoLaunchExternalPlayer() guard consolidates the MPV/VLC auto-launch conditions in the m3u-state effects (incl. catch-up path) - the M3U page overrides the player for DASH channels: ArtPlayer stays ArtPlayer, everything else falls back to the HTML5 player - ChannelDrm is passed through ResolvedPortalPlayback into the synthetic player-view channel Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(e2e): add offline DASH ClearKey fixtures and e2e coverage Fixtures (apps/web-e2e/src/fixtures/dash/): ~4s VP9+Opus DASH, clear and CENC-encrypted variants with fixed synthetic ClearKey credentials. Content synthesized by ffmpeg; encryption done by Shaka Packager because ffmpeg's mp4 muxer writes senc-only metadata (Chromium needs saiz/saio) and cannot produce the subsample encryption the VP9 CENC binding requires. Generation script + README document regeneration. web-e2e (Chromium): import an M3U with KODIPROP ClearKey via raw text, verify encrypted and clear DASH actually play (currentTime advances, no diagnostic banner) and that an unsupported license type (Widevine) surfaces the DRM diagnostic. Fixtures are served through Playwright route interception with HTTP Range support; the Angular service worker is blocked since SW-routed requests bypass interception. electron-backend-e2e: the same happy path + negative against a local Range-aware fixture server — the automated proof that ClearKey EME works in the real Electron runtime (file:// secure context). Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs: document DASH + ClearKey playback architecture Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(pwa): extract KODIPROP DRM on the web-backend /parse import path The web-backend keeps its own playlist builder for the PWA URL-import path, so the shared createPlaylistObject() DRM hook never ran there and encrypted DASH channels imported by URL reached Shaka without keys. Apply extractDrmFromRaw() in that builder too and cover the path with a regression test. Addresses Codex review on PR #1225. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): interrupt stalled Shaka loads and destroy failed engines Two review findings on the ShakaVideoSession lifecycle: - stop()/start() now tear the current player down immediately instead of queueing the destroy behind the in-flight operation. Shaka's destroy() interrupts a pending load() (LOAD_INTERRUPTED), so a stalled manifest fetch can no longer wedge the operation chain and block the next channel start (Codex P1). - A rejected attach()/load() now destroys the failed player after emitting the diagnostic, so a non-functional engine never stays attached to the media element or exposed to the shared-controls bridge (Greptile P1). Regression tests cover both paths. The Shaka fakes are consolidated into a shared jest-free test double that mirrors the destroy-interrupts-load semantic, and the ArtPlayer source-session spec is split (fixtures + DASH cases) to stay within the max-lines lint budget. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(m3u): unify DASH URL detection with playback extension normalization isDashStreamUrl() used the simpler getStreamExtensionFromUrl(), so URLs the player engines classify as DASH (stream.MPD, ?ext=mpd, ?format=mpd) were not routed to the Shaka-capable inline player and lost their ClearKey metadata with Video.js or external players configured (Codex P2). The normalized getPlaybackMediaExtensionFromUrl() now lives in @iptvnator/shared/m3u-utils (re-exported unchanged from the playback lib) and both routing and engine selection share it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore(lint): satisfy CI lint and CodeQL in DASH support files - replace shell-built tar/npm commands with execFileSync arg arrays in the fixture generator (CodeQL: uncontrolled shell command) - give jest stub methods explicit bodies (no-empty-function) - compact the diagnostic label switches in WebPlayerViewComponent to stay under the max-lines budget Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): tear down the Shaka engine on critical error events too A non-recoverable Shaka error emitted after a successful load left the dead engine attached to the media element and exposed to the shared-controls bridge (Greptile P1, round 2). Critical error events now destroy the player right after the diagnostic is emitted, matching the load-failure path. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(m3u): honor DASH catch-up URLs and drop unusable DRM fallbacks Two Codex round-2 findings: - The inline-playback DASH gate only examined the channel URL, while the external-player guard checks the resolved catch-up URL — a replay that resolves to an .mpd manifest with MPV/VLC configured ended up with no player at all. The gate now uses the effective playback URL (activePlaybackUrl ?? channel.url). - The unsupported-DRM diagnostic advertised MPV/VLC fallback actions, but external players cannot receive the KODIPROP license config either — the diagnostic no longer recommends them. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): suppress unusable external fallback for ClearKey DRM failures Runtime DRM errors on channels that carry KODIPROP ClearKey config (wrong or rotated keys) advertised MPV/VLC fallback actions, but external players never receive the license config — the fallback could only fail differently. DRM-classified diagnostics from such channels no longer recommend external players; clear channels keep the hint. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(m3u): symmetric DASH inline gate and lazy DRM for pre-upgrade playlists - The inline DASH gate is now true when either the channel or the resolved catch-up URL is DASH, mirroring the external-player guard — a .mpd channel whose catch-up resolves to .m3u8 no longer ends up with no player at all. - Playlists imported before the DRM feature carry no drm field, but the raw KODIPROP block survived in the stored items; the M3U page now falls back to extractDrmFromRaw(channel.raw) at playback time, so encrypted channels work without a re-import (Channel gains raw?). Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs: sync the DASH/Shaka contract across agent docs Mirrors the DASH/Shaka source-engine contract into AGENTS.md and adds Shaka to the shared web-video bridge descriptions in CLAUDE.md and the player-controls contract; documents the lazy raw-KODIPROP DRM fallback for pre-upgrade playlists in the M3U architecture doc. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): reset the media element for rejected DRM and widen ClearKey fallback suppression - Switching from a playing stream to an unsupported-DRM DASH channel loads no new source, but play() still ran and the un-loaded element could resume the previous stream underneath the diagnostic banner. The HTML5 player now resets the element instead of playing. - Any inline failure on a KODIPROP ClearKey channel (manifest, codec, media, network — not just DRM-category errors) is unsolvable in MPV/VLC, which never receive the license config; the external fallback hint is now suppressed for all diagnostics of such channels. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(playback): restore suppressed DASH captions when the preference re-enables The Shaka bridge dropped the auto-selected text track with selectTextTrack(null) when showCaptions was off, but did not remember it — re-enabling the preference mid-session left captions permanently off (HLS/native bridges already restore). The session now remembers the suppressed track id and reselects it via the bridge's caption-state pass; suppression is also skipped when no track is active. Covered by session and new WebVideoShakaControls specs. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore: retrigger CI GitHub Actions created no check suites for the last three pushes to this branch (third-party apps received the webhooks); an empty commit re-fires the push and pull_request events. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * refactor(playback): split oversized Shaka session and HTML5 spec files CI lint enforces max-lines 400: extract ShakaTextTrackSuppression and the shaka-error helpers out of ShakaVideoSession, and move the DASH-specific HTML5 player test into its own spec. No behavior change. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * ci: allow manual dispatch of the cross-platform E2E workflow GitHub stopped delivering push/pull_request events for this branch; workflow_dispatch provides a manual escape hatch (CI and build-and-make already have one). feat(playback): show media title overlay in fullscreen shared controls (#1228)
* feat(playback): show media title overlay in fullscreen shared controls In fullscreen with the shared player-controls layer, a pointer-transparent overlay at the top of the player now names the content while controls are revealed: one line for movies and live channels, two lines for series (series name + S01E03 label). The overlay follows the bar's auto-hide transition and stays hidden outside fullscreen, where page chrome already names the content. Data flows top-down: the Xtream/Stalker series detail views pass the series name via a new PortalInlinePlayerComponent.seriesTitle input (Xtream episode playback titles carry the episode name, not the series), the inline player builds the two-line form from the episode metadata label, and WebPlayerViewComponent falls back to playback.title for movies/channels while skipping raw stream-URL fallbacks. All four shared-controls hosts (HTML5, Video.js, ArtPlayer, Embedded MPV frame-copy) forward the value. To stay under the max-lines limit, scrub/timeline state is extracted into ControlsTimeline and the playback-diagnostics display helpers into web-player-view-diagnostics.utils.ts, with behavior unchanged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs: mirror fullscreen media-title contract into AGENTS.md Addresses Codex review: the Shared Player Controls section in AGENTS.md must stay in sync with the CLAUDE.md description of the new mediaTitle input, fullscreen overlay behavior, and series-title wiring. fix(embedded-mpv): stop native-view video jump by moving control menus into the dock (#1207)
* fix(embedded-mpv): stop native-view video jump by moving menus into the dock Opening any control popover in the native-view embedded MPV dock used to shrink the MPV view by a 300 px bottom cutout so the popover DOM stayed clickable, which made mpv re-letterbox the video on every menu open/close. All five menus now render horizontally inside the fixed-height controls strip, so menu state never changes the native view bounds: - volume expands as an inline horizontal slider next to the mute button - audio/subtitle/speed/aspect morph the dock row into a back button, a panel title, and a scrollable chip ribbon (app-embedded-mpv-dock-panel) with wheel-to-horizontal-scroll mapping, edge fades, active-chip reveal/focus, roving arrow-key navigation, ellipsis + tooltips, and RTL-aware scrolling - boundsProvider loses the menus.anyOpen() cutout branch and the MENU_OPEN_BOTTOM_CUTOUT_PX constant is removed; HIDDEN_BOUNDS for modal overlays is unchanged - global arrow shortcuts (seek/volume) are suspended while a chip panel is open so arrows walk the chips; Esc, click-outside, and close-on-select semantics are preserved - new EMBEDDED_MPV.PLAYER.BACK i18n key in all 18 languages Regression coverage: the new dock-panels spec asserts the bounds provider returns full host bounds while every menu is open (fails against the old cutout behavior), plus panel morph/a11y/selection specs and a dedicated dock-panel component spec (keyboard, wheel, tabindex, emits). Frame-copy shared controls (app-player-controls) are untouched. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(embedded-mpv): address native-view dock review feedback Resolves the actionable P2 review comments on the dock rework: - Inline volume no longer clips the dock actions. At sidebar-constrained player widths (~480-660px, viewport wider than the 720px breakpoint) the new in-flow volume slider widened the non-shrinking actions column and, under overflow:hidden, clipped the fullscreen button. Add min-width:0 to .embedded-mpv-player__actions and __volume-group so the inline volume (a scroll container) compresses its own slider instead of pushing neighbors off-edge. Verified in Chromium: fullscreen stays visible down to 480px. - Space now selects a focused chip. onPanelKeydown stops Space/Enter from bubbling to the global shortcut handler (whose Space case preventDefault'd the button's native activation and toggled playback) without calling preventDefault itself, so the menuitemradio chip activates and emits chipSelected. Matches the WAI-ARIA menu activation-key expectation. - Simplify dock-panel opener tracking: always remember the toggled kind so focus restoration is correct if in-panel switching ever becomes reachable (currently unreachable — the toggle buttons are removed from the DOM while a panel is open); restoreOpenerFocus still no-ops unless focus fell to body. Not changed: the "closePanels no-ops when unavailable" comment — verified unreachable (chip selection closes via menus.close() directly, not through closePopovers; isAvailable() is engine-bound and the native dock only renders while it is true, with engine handoff calling menus.closeAll()). Regression test added for Space/Enter chip activation. The volume-overflow fix is CSS layout (no jsdom layout engine) and was validated in a real browser. feat(player-controls): add shared engine-agnostic controls layer (#1148)
* feat(player-controls): shared engine-agnostic controls layer (flag off) Introduce a shared, engine-agnostic player-controls layer in libs/ui/playback as pure additive library code with no consumers yet. - Contract (player-controls.model.ts): PlayerControlsCapabilities, PlayerControlsState, and PlayerControlsCommands make up the PlayerController interface every engine adapter implements. - Single presentation component (app-player-controls): one controls UI binding purely to a PlayerController, with focused helpers for visibility auto-hide, volume, fullscreen (built-in DOM path), menus, keyboard shortcuts, seek/volume feedback, and the controls surface. - Web-video adapter (web-video-controls.adapter.ts + host directive): drives the contract from an HTMLVideoElement, including optional HLS.js quality/audio-track integration and series episode navigation. - Feature flag WEB_PLAYER_SHARED_CONTROLS (web-player-controls.flag.ts) defaults to OFF; no player component consumes the new layer yet, so runtime behavior is unchanged. - docs/architecture/player-controls-contract.md documents the target architecture (later PRs add the embedded-MPV adapter, immersive overlay, and host-supplied fullscreen delegate). Review-driven hardening: the web-video adapter now holds the host series-navigation signal reactively (updates after setContext are reflected); the shared controls template is fully localized via ngx-translate (reusing the EMBEDDED_MPV.PLAYER.* keys); single click on the viewport toggles play/pause deferred so a double-click still fullscreens; keyboard shortcuts are shadow-DOM-safe (composedPath) and guard against duplicate-instance double-execution (defaultPrevented); and hidden controls now also disable shortcuts. Test coverage extended per Codecov patch report.
